PMP10195: LM5020MM-2

Part Number: PMP10195

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

I am looking for a PWM Controller for the following application,

  • Input voltage range 50 to 1700 V DC
  • Output voltage : 12V ,350 mA
  • Topology : Flyback, isolated ( No need opto, auxiliary winding recommended)
  • UVLO selection at 50V
  • Low frequency operation ( around 20KHz) avoiding leaking edge blanking time.
  • Longevity of controller atleast 10 years

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Ramakrishna

  • Hi Ramakrishna,

In theory you could use a Cascode topology by having two MOSFETs in series, but I believe for this low output power, pretty much loss will be generated in the gate drive circuit, so I suggest to go with a single SiC FET. We have a particular controller UCC28C5x that drives high voltage SiC FETs (it's a spin of well known peak current mode controller, but fine-tuned for higher gate driving voltage). Associated to this controller, an orderable EVM is available; it accepts 40V to 1kV, supplying 15.2V, 40W, without the need of an optocoupler since the loop is closed by means of primary side aux. winding. Please have a look to the documentation of the related EVM here:

    Best regards,
