PMP22650: Customer queries regarding best current sensing method

Hello Team,

.1. Can customer use Hall based current sensors to sense the high frequency CLLLC Primary & Secondary current ? If not then suggest any part No. or method.

2. Is the secondary side current (low voltage DC side) being used as a parameter in the Control algorithm of Charger or just primary side high frequency current sensing would be enough for the Charger operation?

    Hi, Jinesh,

    Yes, it may be possible to use a hall sensor for the LLC control. TMCS1133B1QDVGR might work, however, you'd need to consider the bandwidth and if it would be sufficient for the application. 

    Alternatively you could use a current sense transformer. I don't know a part off hand that would fit the application.

    The unit uses the output current for control when operating the power supply as a current source.
