TIDA-010242: Lower acceptable Vin range

Part Number: TIDA-010242
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5069

Tool/software:

Hey Team,

My customer has a requirement to take in a Vmin of 10.5V to 33V and I'm wondering if the TIDA-010242 can accept this input.

I'm wondering why there is a Vmin specified at 23V. It seems like the circuit only clamps if the voltage exceeds 33V so the Vmin should not be effected. Is this the case?

If there is a Vmin limit of 23V, is there some modification we can do to accept 10.5V to 33V input?

  • Dajon,

The pass voltage limit is set on the LM5069 using the UVLO and OVLO pins on the device. UVLO could be disabled if they desire to pass down to 9V (the lower limit of the LM5069). Section 9.2.1.2.6 of the datasheet describes this, as well as a few possible configurations they can go with.
