Hi, I create schematic on PSPICE for TI (.DSN), and try to open it on orcad capture, but it shown ERROR (ORCAP-1653). Is there anybody facing the same issue? May I know how to solve it? thanks.

Hi Xuan,
Can you try saving the project and opening that in Capture?
Cadence is working to simplify their structure, and DSN is de-prioritized.
Also, what version of Capture are you using?
David
Hi David, thanks for your response. I have tried saving it as both Capture Design and Capture 16.2 Design, but it doesn't work.
My PSPICE version is 23.1-2024 S001, while my orcad capture version is 17.2-2016 S072.
Let me check in with Cadence. I would hope there wouldn't be some incompatibility but you never know.
Hey Xuan,
Here's Cadence's response.
As per my understanding, design which is not getting opened in 23.1 Capture and 17.2 Capture, was originally created using PSpice for TI.
In order to look into this issue, could you please share the design files with me? Does user has any backup of this design project? In case, design is corrupted, it can be recovered using back-up file.
Also, let me know which operating system, customer is using? and where is this design present? Is it on local disk or present on any network location/drive?
David
Hi Xuan,
Can you archive your project and attach here? Insert->Image/Video/File
David
Hi Xuan,
Are you still having this problem? If so, can you archive the design and attach here?
David
Hi David, the issue still not resolved. Sorry, I cannot share the file to outside company as per company regulation.
I understand.
Does this happen with all designs?
Can you create a design that doesn't include company proprietary information and share so that we can try and resolve this problem?
David
