TIDA-01606: Reference design for "High Frequency" bidirectional converter

Part Number: TIDA-01606
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-010210, PMP22951

Tool/software:

Hello!

(Excuse me, I'm a a bit of a noob at power conversion, so sorry if this is a daft question).

I'm looking at building a 10kw, 3 phase bi-directional converter using 50V batteries for a bespoke application. High efficiency, high power density and short development time are important. Component cost is not.

I was reading SLAA602Awhich has an intriguing section about "high frequency" converters for better efficiency. See the attached figure

My questions are:

- Is there are reference design for such an topology? I haven't been able to find one. Is that because it's not really as good as expected?

- Is the more modern approach to have a bidirectional DC/DC stage coupled with a bidirectional DC/AC stage, with say 400V DC bus?

- If, so which of these reference designs is most suitable for the DC/AC stage: TIDA-01606 (T type) or TIDA-010210 - (ANPC) ? Or something else?

- For the DC/DC stage can I just put a few of these 3kw phase shifted full bridge ( PMP22951 ) in parallel? If not, what?

Cheers!
