Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2011D1, TPA3110D2
Tool/software:
I am working with the TIDA-010040 reference design (Alarm Tone Generator) and, after some software tweaks, this is working.
However, I need to increase the output volume by at least three times and so, for test purposes, I tried a MAX9759 and was surprised to see a decrease in achievable volume.
On further investigation it appears that the TIDA-010040 design is achieving maximum output from the TPA2005 with only a 1V peak to peak differential audio input waveform, offset from 0V by approx 1.5V.
Further experiments with the MAX9759 show that it requires at least a 5V (and ideally 6V) peak to peak differential input waveform to achieve maximum volume
Can you recommend a TI Class D amplifier IC which will work with the TIDA-010040 reference design and produce at least 4 Watts into 4 or 8 Ohms, ideally in a package suitable for R&D purposes (TSSOP, QFN or similar).
I would rather not have to abandon this project / opportunity just because of insufficient output volume.
Thank you.
