TIDA-00440: Sense the power to pe insulation resistance

Part Number: TIDA-00440

Tool/software:

Dear team,

My customer is asking the measurement about Insulation Resistance.

I saw the design about TIDU873A, but the customer isolated voltage is 10kV.

Do we have the relative materials ?

  • Hi Peter,

This reference design follows the IEEE 43-2000 (Recommended Practice for Testing Insulation Resistance of Rotating Machinery) to determine the test levels, test voltage, and insulation levels. Does the customer follow another standard in the application? Is it a motor drive application?

The reference design uses a 500Vdc source to measure the leakage current and then calculate the insulation resistance. It does not have a direct relation to the 10kV isolate voltage of the customer's application.

    Best regards,

    Jerome Shan
