Hi all.

I am building a PMP41037 converter.

I have had the PCBs from the documentation fabricated. What I'm wondering about is the circuit board circled in this image.

I can't find any info about it in the documentation. Does anyone know what this board is? Thanks.

Hi Mark,

Those boards are SR winding boards. You need four pcs of it, and assembe them in the transformer.

You can find its PCB design file in the zip file of the CAD/CAE symbol. https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/tidmcy5

Thanks for the quick reply. I ordered a sample of the transformer listed in the BOM: Yaxin YXS61041T from Yaxin, but it has not arrived yet. Will this have the PCBs built into it already?

Hi Mark,

When I am co working with YAXIN, they need I fabricate the winding board to them. Because they do not fab & build PCB.

Have they asked you to build the winding boards for them?

Yes, they asked me to send PCBs. So now I have to fabricate them and build them. Are the Gerber files and pdf schematics available for those boards? I can't seem to find any in the zip file you mentioned.

OK, I managed to import the PCB files into KiCad and generate Gerber and Excellon files. Are the holes supposed to be crossing over the board outline like this?

Hi Mark,

No, this boards has blind and bury vias. through hole will short the coil. I generated its gerber file for your reference.

Please notice, it need 3OZ copper at least. And, 4OZ better.

OK, thanks! I am still confused about the board outline. Is this supposed to be cut in stages? First they cut the dark blue lines from the ".RectHoles.TXT" file, then the board outline (yellow) from the ".GKO" file? Would they not be able to manufacture it if them were combined into one board outline?

Do I need to provide them the outline in the ".GM1" file (red)?

In the transformer data sheet it looks like there are 2 circuit boards that are being used to connect the tabs from the different PCBs. Are those PCBs? Will I have to fabricate them as well? Are there better photos of the assembled transformer available?
