Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65982, TPS65988DK, TPS65987DDK
Tool/software:
I am planning to develop a new board using the TIDA-01243 reference design as a starting point.
I am developing a board that will be connected to a Galaxy Tablet, and I have a few questions regarding the power delivery components based on the TIDA-01243 reference design.
-
Since our board is intended to charge only via an external power source, is it correct to assume that we do not need the TPS65982 used in the Type-C Sink section of TIDA-01243?
-
I noticed that TPS65986 was replaced with TPS65988DK in the reference design. Could someone explain the rationale behind this recommendation?
-
Additionally, can TPS65987DDK be used as a substitute for TPS65988DK? Between these two PD controllers, which one would be more suitable for our application?
Thanks,
Bongeon
