TIDA-01606: TIDA-01606 issue

Part Number: TIDA-01606
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE, , POWERSUITE, SFRA

Tool/software:

According to the steps in the Design Guide, I encountered some issues.

Lab2:Regarding the Graph Properties issue:
I set the Sampling Rate Hz to 500 and changed the DSP Data Type to 32-bit floating point under Tools > Graph > Dual Time. However, The graph still updates the sampling points approximately every 0.3 seconds, so I am unable to obtain the waveform shown in the image. Are there any additional settings that I need to configure?

Lab 3:

After following the steps:
View -> Resource Explorer, then navigate to Software -> C2000Ware DigitalPower SDK - <5_04_00_00> -> development kits, and select the solution TIDA-01606 / TIDA-010039, then click import project. The code is available for F280039C.
However, I noticed that lab3.js is missing from the project. Will it be updated in the future, or should I use lab4.js instead to observe the variables?

In the Lab 3 design steps, the setup requires a resistor of approximately 200Ω. Given an output power at full load of 230V RMS × 230V RMS / 200Ω ≈ 264W, but in the final step, each phase is supposed to output 1.25kW.

Does this mean that the resistor should be adjusted accordingly to approximately 42Ω to match the expected output?

If the powerSUITE SFRA is not available on the F280039C control board, can an oscilloscope's Analyze > Frequency Response Analysis feature be used to generate a Bode plot instead? If so, in the Bode plot provided in the manual, which circuit points are used as the input and output?

Thanks.

  • Yung,

I will have to get back to you on some of these questions since i'm on travel right now.

The SDK version i have been working with is v4 and v5.03 and those have the 379d and 039c projects.  try to download the older sdk online.

the project will be under this path once installed:

    \ti\c2000\C2000Ware_DigitalPower_SDK_5_03_00_00\solutions\tida_01606

we recently updated the design guide for our new E7 1606.  please check it out.

you can use lab4.js for lab 3 testing.  you can always add new function to the watch window by directly searching in the watch window.  it will give you a list of possible variables you can add to the watch list.
