PMP31210: Total Iq & Vin (Max)

Part Number: PMP31210
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5143A-Q1,

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

I'm Donnie from Korea Automotive team.

I'd like to know the Iq of the design. Since it uses 2 X LM5143A-Q1 can I calculate it as 30uA = 2 X 15uA?

Also, I'm wondering if the maximum voltage is 58V as written in the test report, or if I should understand it as 65V, which is the maximum input voltage of the IC.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Donnie Kim

  • Hi Donnie,

The IC would consume 15uA when set to the ultra-light load mode with reduced error amplifier transconductance. For PMP31210 this setting has not been set. So it would be 2x 25uA. However, this value is only given for no switching operation in the datasheet. At very light loads the device will still be switching, though. So the overall Iq will be higher in a real application. The value will depend on the MOSFET selection.

The IC is rated for 65V (70V abs. max.). The MOSFETs in this design are only rated for 60V, which defines the max. input voltage of the design.
