UCC2897A: Duty Cycle Distortion

Part Number: UCC2897A

Tool/software:

Dear Sir,

We are using UCC2897A in our project for active clamped forward converter. It is designed  to charge the 12V battery . When we are unloading the converter from full load to No load at any voltage between 8V to 14.3V, duty cycle is getting distorted. Wave form is attached below for reference.

Purple color waveform is duty cycle to Main Mosfet on Primary side.

Full Load Current is 13A.

Sometime freewheeling Mosfet is also getting damaged.

Need your suggestions on this to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Ritesh

  • Hi,

Increase the current slope compensation to see if this can be resolved. This is like a typical sub harmonic behavior due to not enough slope compensation.

Check the current sense signal to find if the current spikes to turn off the pulses abnormally.
