AFE7950EVM: Latte tool configuration from GUI

Part Number: AFE7950EVM

Tool/software:

Good Morning

I have the AFE7950EVM-revA board connected to the TSW14J57-revE board.
I tried to configure the AFE by GUI from Latte tool with the following parameters:

In the Interface Rate menu it allow to you to select two different rate, 819.2MHz and 983.04MHz:

The first one, 819.2MHz, its ok and I can configure without errors.
If I select the second one, 983.04MHz, the tool give me errors and cant configure nothings with this rate.

Why Can I select the second one and nothing can be configure with this rate?
What is the reason?

  • Hi Paolo,

The use of the Latte GUI interface is only supported for the TSW14J58EVM, which is the newest capture card.

When using the TSW14J56/57, which are now obsolete, you can instead operate Latte in script mode and follow the TSW14J56/57 user's guide, which are available in the secure site in the Guides_and_SW>AFE79xx_Bringup_Guides folder.

  • Hi David

I follow the guide and Im able to see D2 and D4 leds blink.
Now my goal is the followings:

    - FNCO 5.5GHz
    - FREF 245.76MHz, with FADC 10 times and FDAC 40 times.
     - BW about 245.76MHz

May I use the GUI to generate excel file and then use it to create configuration script?

I ask this because starting from an existing file of bringup modify it based on excel, but I cant see any sync between the two EVM board.

  • Hi Paolo,

I would recommend using one of the default scripts, S1-S7, as a starting point for your design as they are guaranteed to work with the TSW14J57 by default.
