TIDA-010232: Time constant

Part Number: TIDA-010232

Tool/software:

Hello

I have a question about the TIDA-010232 reference design TIDUEZ8C.

The formula for calculating the time constant of an RC circuit is given as (15)

τ = RisoP//RstP × CisoP

but I would like to know if this is the formula.

- Is it necessary to include RisoN and CisoN in the calculation formula ?

- The conditions state that RisoN is small and RisoP is high, but for example, what values are these set to ?

- Are there any other conditions under which equation (15) holds ?

Best regards

  • Hi Mutoh,

    The equation is a simplified equation given the assumption of RisoN is small and RisoP is high.  A good way to confirm this is with a simulation to see if yourself when this condition holds.

    may i ask what application are you using this design for?
