TPS54350: Getting this error message from TINA-TI simulator

Part Number: TPS54350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software:

I am new in using TINA-TI, and I don't see why Vout is not 3.3V .. So I change R1 and R2 trying to get Vout = 2.5V and  still getting the same Vout... What am I missing?

Can you help?

Also I kept playing and sometimes i get the error message saying "Operating Point not Found"  I tried clicking the hand symbol and still the same...

Thanks,

Albert

  • Hi Albert,

You might be getting this error message if the initial conditions of the passive components are not set properly. Can you please let us know what initial conditions are you using?

  • Hi Himanshu, thanks for getting back to me.

This is my first time using TINA, ignorant question, how do I find the initial condition of U1 TPS54350?

Fyi, when i first ran the simulation on slvm745.TSC file I see Vout = 3.3V and then when i changed R1 and R2 values to 10k and 5.49k as suggested in the datasheet to get Vout = 2.5V, I do not see Vout changing at all... In fact i am seeing 268.19nV at Vout2.  I guess I don't get how this simulator works.

  • Hi Albert,

If you double click any capacitor, you should be able to see the option to set initial condition. Check the initial conditions are properly set for all capacitors and inductor (specially output capacitor should be set at Vout). If you dont know what would be the initial conditions, you can quickly run a transient simulation and note down all the node voltages.
