TIDA-010210: TIDA-010210-MB, 750343810

Part Number: TIDA-010210

Tool/software:

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. I have a few questions regarding the TIDA-010210 reference design:

1) 12V power supply for GaN module interface on TIDA-010210-MB: In the figure provided below, I was unable to locate any 12V power supply for the GaN module interface on the TIDA-010210-MB. I wonder if this could cause functionality issues. If so, what would be the recommended solution? Is there another trace to provide 12V to the GaN module? Should external 12V DC power supplies be connected to Pin 5 of the figure below individually to each GaN module?

2) Inductor value on TIDA-010210-MB power stage schematics: In the power stage schematics of TIDA-010210-MB, the highlighted inductor is listed as 480µH, but there is also a note stating:
"Inductor to be changed with 750343810"—which corresponds to 340µH. Could you please confirm which inductor value is actually recommended for this design?

3) Missing block diagram in Si module schematics PDF:
In the attached PDF file of the Si module’s schematics, the block diagram page (page 2) is currently empty. Is there a newer or updated version of this document that includes the Si module block diagram?

I would greatly appreciate your clarification on these points.

Farzad Y. Notash

  • Hi Farzad,

    Thanks for contacting us.

following you can find my answers.

    1) you need to provide the power supply externaly.

    2) this is the recommended inductor 750343810

    3) in this board just two power devices Si one, two power supplies and one gate driver are implemented.

    Thanks

    Best Regards

    Riccardo

  • Hello Ricardo,

Thanks for your prompt response. I appreciate your help. Since we are working on modifying the board based on the requirements of our application, I wonder if it would be possible for you to share the block diagram page of the Si Module.

  • Hello Farzad,

the Si power board is just including this two switches, gate driver and power supply. I have highligthed this into the picture in red.

    Thanks

  • Hello Riccardo,

Thank you so much for your response and support.

I have another question regarding the GaN module. I did a DRC on the GaN module and there is 1 rule violation as shown below:

When clicking on the rule violation, the shown violated part on the PCB is as shown below:

I wonder this violation will cause any problem if we order the PCB to be manufactured by a PCB vendor. If yes, I would appreciate your help in solving this issue. Thanks!
