TIDA-010239: Need PLC communication solutions for EVCC

Part Number: TIDA-010239
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM62L

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

One of my customer is exploring the solutions available for PLC communication in the EVCC controller.

They want to ,make a solution similar to what is their in below link:

Charge Module E • chargebyte.com

I have attached the SOR of their requirement please let us know what all PLC modules could be used for this and do we have a reference design which best fit with their requirements.

  • Hello Jinesh,

To summarize the requirements of your customer based on the SOR and Chargebyte Module, they need:

    • ISO15118/ IEC61851 support, which implies a Power Line Communication transceiver (PLC), the Control Pilot and Proximity Pilot circuitry
    • CAN Interface for communication with electronic control units
    • RS232 for monitoring and control of the EVCC controller
    • Thermal management, I assume to monitor the temperature of the contacts inside the charging plug.
    • Power supply with 12V input
    • Pluck lock control

We are currently working on a reference design which fulfills all the requirements. The front-end controller (equivalent to the Chargebyte module) is based on a MSPM0 and supports AC and DC charging according to IEC 61851 and ISO 15118 respectively. The ISO 15118 software stack runs on Linux, on a Sitara MPU the AM62L. As the reference design is not public yet, I’ll provide you the information per mail.

The design reference for the Control Pilot can be found on the TIDA-010239, which also demonstrates the required power supply (12V to +/-12V, 3.3V, 5V) and a pluck lock solution.

    Best Regards,

    Simon
