TPS51396A: PSpice for TI - TPS51396A Simulation Convergence Error at 6.455ms (ORPSIM-15138)

Part Number: TPS51396A

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am experiencing a persistent convergence error while simulating the TPS51396A using PSpice for TI. The simulation runs correctly for a while but consistently fails at T = 6.455 ms with the error ERROR(ORPSIM-15138): Convergence problem in Transient Analysis.

The error log points to an internal device X_U1.D_U7_D71 failing to converge.

I have already tried all the standard convergence troubleshooting steps, including:

  • Using a soft start with a VPWL source (0-7V over 1-5ms).

  • Setting STEADY_STATE = 0.

  • Checking the Skip initial transient bias point calculation (SKIPBP) option.

  • Relaxing simulation tolerances (RELTOL = 0.01).

  • Changing the integration METHOD to GEAR.

  • Removing the Maximum Step Size limit.

Despite all these efforts, the simulation still fails at the exact same point. This leads me to believe there might be an issue within the PSpice model itself.

Could you please investigate this issue? Is there an updated or more robust model available for the TPS51396A? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
