Tool/software:
I'm looking to design an 80A supercap charger that will charge 1360F from 0-28.2V from an 18-26V source in <10 minutes.
I have seen the application notes on multiple LM5177 being operated in parallel with a phase shifted clock source.
Is there a limit or trade off on the number of parallel converters aside from size/cost? Is there a practical limit to the number of synchronised parallel converters?
Would I be better off with 2 x 40A converters, 4 x 20A converters or 8 x 10A converters for example?
Is the LM5177, LM51770 a suitable device or is there a more suitable device for the application?
Have I settled on the wrong topology- is there something more suitable?
Automotive rating would be an advantage.
