UCC256403: Is this model compatible with other simulation tools?

Part Number: UCC256403

Tool/software:

 1. Would appreciate it if you could confirm whether the UCC256403 model is supported by tools such as PSpice, TINA, PSIM, and PLECS, other than Simplis.

 2. In addition, could you please verify whether U2 in the test bench provided by Simplis is actually the UCC256403 chip? (Please refer to the attached image.)

I look forward to your reply.

Thank you

  • Hi DongJun,

Unfortunately, No, Simplis models only work with a Simplis simulator. The LLC topology is much too complex to have a working Spice based model as that would take a very long time to run and likely encounter convergence errors.

The model is made to simulate the power stage and burst mode operation. It is not simulating features like X-cap discharge so you can treat it as the UCC256403.

Please note we now have the newer UCC256613 which is a faster LLC than can help to maximize power density.

I hope this answers your question.
