PSPICE-FOR-TI: Unable to Launch PSpice for TI (ORCOMMN-12005)

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI

Tool/software:

Hi,

My previous license expired on July 29, 2025, and despite obtaining a new license through my TI account and performing a complete reinstallation, I continue to receive the following error when attempting to launch PSpice for TI:
"ERROR(ORCOMMN-12005): Unable to launch OrCAD PSpice TI. A valid license was not found at the <none> license server."

Additionally, even after requesting a new license and complete reinstallation, I still received an expired license file (expiring July 29, 2025).
According to the log files, the license file was downloaded successfully with VblSuccess status, but validation consistently fails with status -10.
The issue appears to be server-side rather than client-side, as the license server may not be recognizing the updated license for my system configuration.

Could you please verify and update the license server configuration for my account to ensure proper license validation?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

  • Any help here?  Downloaded software 2 weeks ago and it expired on 7/29/2025 with same message as yours.  My license file had that date for expiration which seems quite a coincidence with your expiration date.  Makes me wonder if the TI deal with Cadence for using pspice expired on 7/29/2025

  • On yesterday I've got the same problem, I downloaded the SW 2 weeks ago and on yesterday morning the Pspice was working, but in the afternoon I've got the same message

"ERROR(ORCOMMN-12005): Unable to launch OrCAD PSpice TI. A valid license was not found at the <none> license server."

I uninstall the SW ask a new license and download the SW, reinstalled and restart the computer, but still the problem is not solved.

    How to solve this?

  • Hi,

I got the same problem a couple days ago, on a windows 10 platform. For my case, it seems to be due to the username that I used to login to a computer was not matched that's in the folder C:\users\(username), so that the license file could not be reached.

I managed to fix the problem by

    1. Uninstalled the PSpice for Ti installed under the old username, and manually deleted all the related folders: C:\Cadence, C:\cds_spb_home, and C:\Users\old-username\AppData\Roaming\Cadence. I am not certainly sure that these actions are necessary but wanted to have a complete cleaning up.

    2. Created a new local user (by executing the "netplwiz" command in the Run dialog box).  In this way, windows generate a folder C:\users\(username) in which (username) is identical to the newly created username.

    3. Downloaded and installed a fresh package of PSPICE for Ti.

    And that's it.

In case creating a new user is not a possible option, renaming your username to match (username) in C:\users\(username) might do the job. I haven't tried it myself, though. In doing that, ensure the folder C:\users\(username) belongs to the username being renamed.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Thanusit

  • After repeatedly attempting to start the PSpice for TI today, it is now starting up and running properly.

It seems that the licensing issues have been resolved.

    Thank you for your support.

  • Today the Pspice works without to do nothing, I think that they solved the license's issue Slight smile
