PSPICE-FOR-TI: Valid license not found.

Hi,

I am unable to launch PSpice for TI after installing/updating today.

I get the common ERROR(ORCOMMN-12005): Unable to launch PSpice TI. A valid license was not found at <None> license server. Update the license server configuration to include OrCAD PSpice TI licenses.

So far, I have tried rebooting, uninstalls, installing/running as admin. I can also verify that the license file has been created (%appdata%\Cadence\VBL\TI_PSpice_231\license\license.txt) and looks legitimate.

One thing I'll mention is that this install was made on top of an installation of TI_PSpice_174.

Any suggestions?

The license file and log (created using CDS_LIC_QA_TesT environment variable) are provided below.

That license file, like mine and others, shows that license is expired (Exp Date: 29-jul-2025). I think this is a problem with TI and Cadence that they will have to resolve.

I have the same issue. TI sent me my ACCESS KEY by email this morning. Used it to install and getting the exact same error!!

I had the same issue on all my machines, tried with 2 different accounts key still the same, It seems like everyone is facing the same issue. It's been three days now — TI and Cadence really need to resolve this promptly.

The exp date says July 19th which was two days ago. Please run PSpice for TI to see if it gets updated.

create a debug file and share it with us if you still have trouble:

Create a new environment variable "CDS_LIC_QA_TEST". Set it to something like C:\Cadence\PSpiceTI\LicLog.txt where you have write permission to.
Run PSpice for TI if installed or the installer if not, wait for the error message to be shown, then check if the file C:\Cadence\PSpiceTI\LicLog.txt is created.
share the file LicLog.txt
Delete the environment variable "CDS_LIC_QA_TEST". (otherwise LicLog.txt will keep growing).

The program worked for me today without reinstalling. However, I am now getting a warning message box saying that the program cannot connect to the Cadence license service so it is running in offline mode. So there is still a licensing issue but someone has kicked it down the road 30 more days.

Please refer to my original post. I had already done this after seeing this posted in other threads. The contents of the file is posted in my first quote block.

As John Zumkehr pointed out, the license file that was provided when I registered was expired at the point of registration. This appears to be an issue on TI's end. Therefore, I am unable to proceed, and further attempts to requests to download the software give me the same license key.

the access (not license) key does not change.

Cadence has fixed the license server outage and I got my license file renewed. If you still have problems, please create the debug file again.
