TIDA-010216: PRE-DISCHARGE CIRCUIT

Part Number: TIDA-010216

Tool/software:

Hello TI Team,

I am working with the TIDA-010216 reference design and need clarification on the pre-discharge operation.

Is it possible to implement pre-discharge by turning ON only the discharge MOSFET, while keeping the charge MOSFET OFF?

In this case, the pre-discharge current would flow through the enabled discharge path—either through the MOSFET's body diode or via partial conduction if the MOSFET is fully ON—to gradually charge the output side/load capacitors and stabilize the PACK+ voltage before enabling full conduction.

Thanks & Regards

Chaitanya
