Hello,

1:I want to design a wide-range input flyback switching power supply with 120-1350VDC input, 24V output, and 40W output power, referring to the circuit in PMP41009. I would like you to recommend a flyback control chip similar to the UCC28740 chip, with a maximum operating frequency of up to 130KHz. Is there a suitable one?

2:Also,the schematic diagram below is the circuit design I referenced, which uses the UCC5350M driver chip to drive the SiC MOSFET. Since the chip requires the two sides (left and right) to not share a common ground, the supply voltage of VCC2 is provided by the auxiliary winding. Will it affect the circuit that the grounds at positions 1 and 3 marked in the diagram are different from the ground connected to the auxiliary winding that supplies power to the control chip's VCC? Also, does the ground at position 2 need to be consistent with the ground at position 1 on the right side of the driver chip?

  • Hello, I have another question. The chip I selected for the flyback circuit I designed has a built-in high-voltage startup circuit, so there is no need for an external high-voltage startup circuit to provide the initial voltage. The MOSFET I use is a SiC MOSFET, so I added a UCC5350M driver chip to the drive circuit. The chip pins VCC1 and VCC2 are connected to the auxiliary winding. Since the auxiliary winding only starts up after the circuit works normally, I am worried that the driver chip may not function in time, causing the circuit to fail to work properly. Will this situation occur?

  • may I ask what the suitable maximum duty cycle is for the UCC228740 chip in my design?

  • Hi, Why do you want to use maximum operating frequency 130KHz? I don't recommend so high frequency with the high input voltage 1350V.

We need to short the ground 1, 2, 3.
