PSPICE-FOR-TI: Run as local user (not admin)

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI

Tool/software:

Hi,

my customer has an issue:

-------------------------------

Could you help me how to install the Pspice TI tool as an admin and use it as a local user?
If I install it as an admin, then I have to run it as an admin otherwise licensing fails.
I see no way to add the activation key later as a user besides the installation....

-------------------------------

Best regards

  • Can anyone please take care of this question?

    Thanks!

  • This is what they see after installing it as admin and then starting it as normal user.

  • Can anyone share some feedback?

  • Hello - apologies for the delay. I am working this with Cadence support as well & have a few follow up questions to help us debug the issue.

Based on the information you provided, it is my understanding that you have installed PSpice for TI successfully and inserted activation key at the time of installation. You have installed it with admin rights. Now after installation, when you run the tool as admin, it runs without any issue. Please confirm. However, as normal local user, you are not able to run it and it shows you ERROR(LMC-022089). Please let me know if I missed anything or misunderstood your issue. Could you please share the qalog.txt file from your end with me. Steps to be followed at your end:

    1. Set following environment variable under system variables: CDS_LIC_QA_TesT = c:\cadence\qalog.txt
    2. Close all Cadence SPB related tools and PSpice for TI if its already running.
    3. Now try to run PSpice for TI as local user. Wait for some time. Error will be displayed on the system.
    4. After these steps, can you please share the qalog.txt with me.
