PSPICE-FOR-TI: Simulation Speed DC/DC Converter

Hi,

I am trying to simulate the TPS61299 DC/DC converter but noticed that the simulation speed is extremely low with only a couple of ms/s. I started with a simple circuit as shown below. I also adjusted the simulation parameters to relax the accuracy requirements (see settings below) but it did not significantly increase the simulation speed.

Do you have any advice? Thank you very much.

    it's normal the simulation would take long period, because of involving gross complicated models, please pay patience. You could leave it running when taking over other work.

    I am running into more issues with the model. I simulated the following circuit with the _A variant of the TPS61299 with an input voltage of 1.5V. With the 365k resistor, I expected the voltage to be boosted to 1.8V at the output. However, the voltage keeps increasing way beyond the target output voltage and it keeps increasing when I let the simulation run for longer. What is the issue here?

    are you using the TPS61299A? Is the input voltage 1.5V. Could you test the inductor current ?

  • The simulation results shown above are from the TPS61299A, as shown in the schematic. 
    I repeated the simple test with the TPS61299 model and the results are very similar (see below). I also plotted the current through the inductor in blue which looks reasonable, except that the switching frequency increases although the set output voltage has already been exceeded.

  • Hi Lukas,

    It's weird, could you download a new one and set up the simulation from brand new ? And do not change the default set up for simulation to accelerate the simulation, which might lead to the unstable condition as you describe.
