LV5144: Need to simulate this IC (LV5144)

Part Number: LV5144
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5137

Dear Team,

As part of the in-house DC-DC converter development, we have selected the LV5144 IC for incorporation into our design. Our requirement is to achieve an output of 12 V at 40 A, with an input voltage range of 30 V to 60 V.

In order to verify and validate this design, we require a simulation tool specific to the LV5144 IC. We kindly request your support in providing the appropriate simulation resources for this IC.

  • Hello Pawan,

For a 40A output requirement, you'll need a 2-phase or higher solution. It's challenging to meet this requirement with a single-phase design, as thermals become difficult to manage and you'll likely experience poor efficiency at higher loads.

I recommend considering the LM5137, which is better suited for your application. It's a dual-phase 80V controller that can handle your requirements effectively.

    Design Resources:

    • QuickStart Calculator: Available here - https://www.ti.com/tool/LM5137-LM25137-DESIGN-CALC
    • WEBENCH Power Designer: Supported for automated design
    • SIMPLIS Model: May be available - if you have SIMPLIS support, I can check internally and provide the model

Please let me know if you need the SIMPLIS model or have any other questions.

    Thank you,

    Regards,

    Onkar Bhakare
