PMP41037: Question about PMP41037

Part Number: PMP41037

Hello,

For our test environment, we require a bidirectional DC-DC converter compliant with automotive standards. In your product portfolio, we identified the reference design PMP41037 (TIDT332), whose architecture aligns very well with our application.

According to the documentation, this design is a bidirectional DC transformer (800 V ↔ 12 V) based on a series half-bridge topology using GaN devices and C2000 control. Both the bidirectional capability and the selected topology match our technical requirements precisely.

However, the current reference design is rated at approximately 1 kW, whereas our project requires a comparable bidirectional architecture at a higher power level of around 3.5 kW.

Therefore, we would like to inquire whether it would be possible to adapt or redesign the PMP41037 reference design to meet this higher power requirement.

In particular, we would appreciate your technical assessment regarding:

  • whether the underlying topology is fundamentally scalable to approximately 3.5 kW,

  • which major hardware and control adaptations would be required (e.g., power semiconductors, magnetics, gate drivers, thermal design).

Additionally, we would appreciate receiving information about the product cost and whether this design or a corresponding unit is available as a manufactured development prototype.

Thank you very much in advance for your support. It would be greatly appreciated if you could contact me via the following email address for further communication.
