TPSI31P1-CALC: PSpice Simulation Aborted with ORPSIM-16550 Divide-by-Zero Error

Part Number: TPSI31P1-CALC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62400

Dear TI Support Team,

I am trying to simulate the TI gate-driver circuit using the PSpice model provided by Texas Instruments. However, the transient simulation fails after some time with the following error messages.

PSpice Error Log:

Bias point calculated
Transient Analysis
ERROR(ORPSIM-16550): Floating point computation failed during matrix solution.
Possible solutions: 1) Ensure that all device parameters are in valid range.
2) Try using .options LIMIT

Divide by Zero, Divide
INTERNAL ERROR -- Divide by Zero, Divide
Run aborted

License check-out time = 1723.03
Total job time (using Solver 1) = 440.64

INFO(ORPROBE-3188): Simulation aborted

The DC bias point is calculated successfully, but the simulation aborts during transient analysis.

Could you please help me investigate the cause of this error and suggest the necessary changes to the PSpice model or simulation settings?

Please let me know if you require the simulation schematic, PSpice project files, or the complete .out log for further analysis.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
Suresh R

  • Hey Suresh,

Has there been any changes to the design before simulation?

Confirm you have the current model. The closest documented ORPSIM-16550 transient divide-by-zero (TPS62400) was resolved outright by replacing the original PSpice model with an updated TI model. Re-download the TPSI31P1 simulation files and re-run the unmodified reference schematic before debugging your own edits.

    BR,
