TINA v9 Steady State Solver crashes when trying to run the TPS56221

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS56221, TINA-TI

Hello,

I'm fairly new to TINA, but I'm trying to run a Steady State simulation of my TPS56221 circuit, and TINA crashes every time I try to run it.

I also want to make sure the circuit is stable, so I figured I'd run an AC analysis, but I can't figure out what I'm looking at on all the graphs that it generates.  I would expect to just get a Bode plot with gain and phase information.  How can I measure the phase margin?

Thanks!

  • Jamaal,

The model you are running is a transient startup model. This model and reference design will show you the startup characteristics of the device.

If you would like to see the Bode Plot information, please use Average TINA-TI reference design and run the AC analysis using it.

For a steady state simulation, please use the Steady State reference design and use the transient simulation. We currently do not support the Steady State solver methodology in TINA-TI.

All of the reference designs can be found in the product folder for the TPS56221.
