What are the major differences between Webench, SwitcherPro and TINA-TI ?

Will Webench eventually replace SwitcherPro? TINA-TI?

What simulation tool is recommended for power supply designs using TI parts?

I have used Webench, but not the others.

Hi,

WEBENCH and SwitcherPro are design tools while TINA-TI is a simulation tool. You can use WEBENCH to design your power supply solution and then use TINA-TI as a stand-alone simulation tool for simulating your designs. We recommend WEBENCH for your power supply design needs.

I know that Webench will do some simulation but will Webench actually simulate isolated flybacks and run bode plots etc.? Or should this be done with TINA-TI. Specifically looking at simulating PoE+ flyback design using the TPS23756. And a non-isolated POE that has yet to be designed.

Hi,

Currently WEBENCH does not have any isolated flybacks that can be simulated. You can use TINA-TI for such cases. Non-isolated flybacks like LM2585-ADJ can be simulated in WEBENCH. We currently do not have a spice model for the TPS23756. But please check back at www.ti.com/spicerack as we constantly add spice models to our list.
