Hi there,
I was using Tina to simulate one circuit to compare with the theoretical calculation of t = RC.
However the simulation only fits calculation if the Cap is not smaller than 1uF.
I would though that the RC time constant would applied for all capacitance value. Somehow in Tina when the capacitance value is less than 1uF it does not follow the RC time constant law.
Would someone please tell me why is Tina simulate different result than the theoretical value?
For every capacitance that is less than 1uF the simulation RC time is always larger than the theoretical value from 20~200% (if 1nF is applied)
The timed switch is to provide an open circuit so the cap will discharge through the R2 resistor.
For my calculation the
rise time = C*R1 (as most of the current will go through R1 to charge up the Cap)
Fall time = C*R2 (since R1 is pretty much too small to have effect on R2)
