OPAy171 TINA Model Convergence Problems Using Pspice 16.2

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA171, TINA-TI

Dear Sirs,

I downloaded and converted the OPAy171 TINA Model to an equivalent Spice model using the text "copy and paste" method.  I got one "floating node" error and one "voltage loop" error.  Fixing these was easy.  I simply added a tera ohm resistor across the floating node and a pico ohm resistor in series with the voltage loop node.

After implementing these "fixes" I proceeded to get numerous convergence errors internal to only these models.  I am running a full version of Cadence/Orcad Pspice A/D 16.2.  The errors were numerous and it was unclear how to address them with manual fixes.

Please help provide a "fix" for the Spice model convergence problems.  Your assistance in this matter is much appreciated.

Sincerely,

David R. Martin

P.S.  Is the OPAy171 family CMOS based?  No where in the datasheet is this mentioned.  I did notice that there are no Q, J, or M devices present in the model which raises the question:  Is a model consisting of only ideal devices trustworthy enough to accurately simulate the second order non linear effects of cutoff, saturation, or slew rate limiting?
