TINA-TI FET model

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

All,

Is there a model or a setting in TINA-TI for the pMOS or nMOS enhancement type FET where the body has an option to *not* be connected to the source?  There is a 'body' option in the properties but it appears to only allow a text label to be viewed.

  • Hi Ken,

TINA-TI does not provide a schematic symbol for a 4 terminal pMOS or nMOS. However, internally, the enhancement type MOS devices are implemented with a MOS Level 3 model, which have 4 explicit terminals.

You have a couple of choices:

    1) Upgrade to TINA Industrial. TINA Industrial does provide a generic 4 terminal MOS symbol.

    2) Take any existing 4 terminal device from any of the existing TI EVM schematics (http://focus.ti.com/packaged_lits/tina_ti_ref_files/ti_tina_ti_ref_designs.zip), right click on the device, select "Enter Macro", and replace the existing macro contents with your 4 terminal device, making sure that the pin names align (pin assignment is positional in TINA-TI).

    Sorry for the late reply.

    Hope this helps,
    Michael
