Output cap calculation failure in V3.4 for TPS40210

Hi All,

 I am not able to get any designs to work with a TPS40210.  I am after a design with the following inputs

Vin min 11

Vin max 14

Vout 30V

I out 2.5A

 

The error I get isshown below in itailcs.  I can't understand the current rating >= 35A.  What is this current?  The RMS current throught the inductor is around 7 - 8 A .  Is this a bug or is it correctly highlighting an impossible design.

On a related note.  Should the ESR requirement for the output cap as described in the datasheet be seen as a target or a maximum value?

    This is the same issue as you have reported in another post. We have found the issue and fixed it in the program. We will release it in our new version v3.5 next month.
