The SwitcherPro software requires as minimum inductance 2.7uH regardless of the switching frequency or duty cycle (Vout/Vin).

There is no such limitation in the datasheet, the ripple current is at the designer's discretion.

Am I missing anything?

    There is a minimum inductor value in the part database.  This value will override whatever the calculated value is if the calculated value is lower than the minmum.  For some reason, the minimum inductor for the TPS54620 is set to 2.7 uH.  The design input specification states that the minimum value should be 0.22 uH.  I have requested it be changed to the correct value of 0.22 uH.
