minimum ontime problems

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54917

if I make a design 3.0V to 0.9V 3A using TPS54917 I get a warning that minimum ontime is violated.   This happes as the default frequency is 1.6MHz.  but there is no easy way to change the frequency to a lower value.   the only way I found is to make a new design using the advanced tab and there select a new frequency.

Please add a function to allow a customer to change the frequency in an existing design.  especially as the software already gave a warning about minimum ontime violation.

  • Hello,

You are right that currently the only way to change switching frequency is through 'Advanced Inputs' options when creating a new design. We are working on a few new features to add into SwitcherPro and one of them is 'Design Options' where the user will e able to change his/her inputs (including switching frquency, vin, vout, iout etc.) for an existing design. This feature will be released around March / April time frame.
