How to change switching frequency

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54550

Hi.
I am using switcher pro to design a 1.0V power supply from a 12V rail.  I get a warning saying that the on-time is too short for the part I am trying to use.  I know that if I lower the switching frequency, this would not be the case, but I cannot find where to tell Switcher Pro to use a lower frequency.
Does any body know how to change the switching frequency?
Thanks,
Alejandro

Alejandro,

Good question.  The current user interface only allows you to change the Switching Frequency when you create a new design from the "Advanced" form.  If you just put in the VinMin,VinMax,Iout,Vout and then scroll down you'll see a text box to input a specific switching frequency (ex. "500" for 500kHz)

then click the "filter" button to narrow down the list of parts.  hopefully the part you want to use will still be in the list.

Hope this helps

Great!  Thanks.

Hi,
I tried creating a new design for TPS54550. I created a new design, from the advanced form, and there was no way to enter the switching frequency.

We really should be able to adjust the switching frequency by selecting the switching controller and editing a parameter.  Or, in the what if table, when we adjust the conditions, we should be able to update that back to the design.
