Spice model import problem Undefined model: C

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hello Everybody

I need to test the Dual Mosfet BF998 (NXP.com)

http://www.nxp.com/documents/spice_model/spice_BF998.prm

I've got this model  from nxp, put the Model-Text in the Netlist Editor and save it to the BF998cir file (Successfully compiled).

In the second step i start the New Macro Wizard and use  the option from file.

In the Load shape from library  i select <Nmos_Enh_4> (4 Pins for the Dual gate Mosfet), connect the pinns and pree Next.

The program generate a error Undefined model: C. (C:\Programme\DesignSoft\Tina 9-TI\EXAMPLES\SPICE\\TSPICE.LIB)

The circuit cannot be opened or be converted to a macro.

If i use the Auto generate shape it generate the same error.

Used System: Win XP

Thank you very much for your attention,

Best regards,

Stefan

  • Stefan,

The model provided does not translate into TINA-TI because of the format NXP used. For normal inductors, capacitors, and resistors, the value is all that is needed, not the C=, L=, or R= as it is in this file. Once removed, the model translates correctly. You should NOT use the Nmos_Enh_4 as it contains a drain, source, gate, and bulk connection which does not properly represent a 4 terminal dual gate device. I used the default box symbol (Auto generate shape) and modified it to show the names by the pin numbers. I have done a quick DC sim to see if it looks like a transistor and it does. I have NOT done any performance testing. Please see the attached .TSM file. To use it, use the Insert--> Macro... and navigate to the saved location.

  • Hi Britt,

    thank you very much.

It works without C=,L= or R=.
