Open .pcb files

Hi, i downloaded schematics and pcb file for lmx9838.Which software should i use to open them?

I tried express pcb,proteus,eagle and some other but they won't open them.

How are these designed?

Hello George,

Go to http://webench.ti.com/cad/ and down load free UltraLibrarian reader to translate the bxl file to the CAD tool of your choice.

Hi,there is no .bxl file for LMX9838 at this site.

The package snwc002.zip-> 3 Schematics & Board Docs i downloaded for lmx9838 has

9838DONGLE.pcb

LMX9838 SCH.DBK

LMX9838 SCH.DSN and a zip LMX9838Dongle CAM with many other.

Sorry about that. We have LMX9838_NAW_70.bxl but it has not been published to ti.com yet. I will include it here now and let you know when it is published.

Thank you very much for the help.

I was looking for this also but at the start i downloaded LMX9838DONGLE Serial Ref. Design Rev 4.0 because it has the pcb layout for dongle ready.I mean the circuit from the datasheet of lmx9838 connected with other parts to avoid making the pcb schematic from the start.

If you think i can find the pcb layout for dongle tell me.

The zip file on http://www.ti.com/tool/lmx9838-sw has the gerber file for LMX9838 dongle PCB.

In other words you can use the PCB file and won’t have to redo the layout.

Yes,this is what i am looking for.My first question was how i open the PCB file,because i downloaded it before and couldn't open.

You say it has a gerber file.Can you recommend a software to view these files?

Ok ,i tried some.Now i open the other files(.PHO) and i can see the layouts from the zip LMX9838Dongle CAM,but none of them opens the .pcb.Can you open the .pcb file? I tried also pads viewer which has .pcb files but says "Job not compatible with current version of program" unfotunatelly.Try it if you want.

Anyway,i think i can work with the other files now.Thanks for helping

Great to hear that you can move forward. PCB file was created in 2009 so there might be a version compatibility issue.

The LMX9838_NAW_70.bxl is now available on ti.com.
