SwitcherPro Desktop software will not provide designs for TPS61175

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61175

I am designing a power supply around the TPS61175, but I cannot get the SwitcherPro software to produce results.  The error message I see is, "HighSide Mosfet Rdson calculation Failed.  Failed to Finish Updating Calculations after loading design."

All comments and advice are appreciated.  I have reinstalled the software and reboot my workstation numerous times.  I have tried SwitcherPro on both Vista and Windows 2000 platforms and I received the same results.  I am using SwitcherPro Desktop version Version 3.5.1.19849

Thanks,

Ricky

  • Hello Ricky,

We have found out that there was a bug in SwitcherPro which made TPS61175 designs to fail. We have turned that part off on web for now. we are planning to release a fix in a few days. Your desktop application will get auto-updated when you run it after the new version is released. Sorry for the inclonvinience.

  • Hello Hetal-

Thank you for the quick reply.  I will be looking forward to the new version.  In the mean time, is there an older version that I could download and use that worked before the bug?

    Thanks,

    Ricky

  • Hello Ricky,

Since it is only a matter of a day or two to get the corrected version, I would request you to wait for that and let your current application get auto-updated. It is not our normal procedure to give out older versions. Sorry about that.

    Thanks,

    Hetal.

  • If you have the orginal file structure on your machine (before the auto updater kicked in and put v3.5 on your machine)  You technically have the old version still avaialble to you.

look carefully at the folder structure.

    Program Files/Texas Instruments/ SwitcherPro Desktop/

there you should have more than one sub folder, one called 1.0.0.0  (this holds the most current version of the tool) (this is the one that starts when you use your desktop shortcut)

but there might also be a sub folder 3.4.12.18563 or older.  Those folders hold the old versions of the software.  You can go there and run the old version from the executable file SwitcherProDT.exe

NOTE:  Because of the way the update works, any designs you build in an old version like this will not get ported to the new version. when we release it this week.

So you can use it but your design will be locked in that version,

Right now we only do a single one time design migration. That happens when the updater first runs.

    I hope this helps.
