using LM3914 to show battery status - help needed

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3914

Hello ,

hope I got to the right place.

I'm trying to use LM3914 to show me in 4 LEDs the status of a battery 10-12V (all led for 12V , 1 led for 10 and below)

I have read and use the datasheet - but it doesn't work for me

I'm using R1=1.18K , R2=9.8K , R3=0-50K(it's potentiometer)

can someone guide me and explain what I have done wrong? what I have miss?

Thanks ,

  • Hello,

I would recommend not paralleling the channels of the device. If you want it to display a voltage at a certain threshold then simple connect the LED to the particular channel that corresponds to that threshold.

By connecting multiple channels to the same LED you are probably having a few channels going high and a few going low connected to the same node.
