Webench Designer shows TI user account is not logged on:

Guru 55913 points

A previously longed on TI user account is showing a Guest status in Webench designer.

When user attempts to sign on under (Guest Icon top toolbar) user is linked to the TI user sign on page and presented with a  message that orders user to choose an email address and set Webench user preference even when user profile Webench preference has been previously configured.

The user remains in Guest status can not proceed to next step (Open design).

  • Hi Brett,

In order to use WEBENCH, the system required:

    1) The user email must be validated.

    2) The user must opt-in or opt-out from WEBENCH email communication.

The URL that we forward the user to validate his email is currently broken on the server and we are trying to resolve it.

In the meanwhile, please use the following link to perform the email validation and continue with the design creation process.

    1) To validate email from my.ti.com portal.

    https://myportal.ti.com/portal/dt?provider=TIPassLoginSingleContainer&lt=myti&actionId=1171&goto=https%3A%2F%2Ffocus.ti.com%2Ftipass%2Fdocs%2Fconfirmemail.tsp%3Faction%3Dconfirmemail%26permanentid%3D

    2) To update the opt-in/opt-out option:

     https://focus.ti.com/myti/docs/webenchpreference.tsp?sectionId=650&goto=

After perform this two actions, then the user would be ready to log into WEBENCH.

We 're sorry for the inconvenience and we hope we will have the fix release to production very soon.

    Regards

  • Thanks Dien :)

The confusing part was the user account profile was I previously saved after setting the WEBENCH preference.

The Webench system did not like the fact the TI user account did not have a mailing address and phone number but never stated in (error message) that was an issue until clicking on (HERE) below. Then a different dialog was shown for the user to register for Webench. Confusing being the user account single sing on works so well every where else on the site.

WEBENCH® requires you to complete your profile to assure the security of your account, click HERE to proceed

  • Hi Brett,

The whole system was working before and really something get change from the validation part and it cause the URL to send to a page not found. We are currently working extensively with the TI Pass team to resolve this issue. Hopefully, we will get to bottom of it soon.

    Regards

    Dien

  • Since that profile change now our email recipient name is displayed where used to be TI Community for both your name and mine. A different mail server and recipient not TI community or forum email server. Possible cause is a canonical name A record issue in DNS.

  • Hi, I tried to repeat suggested steps (that is part of registration) but without success. Please find below what I got on screen where I cannot skip last step:

  • Hi Denis,

I don't the the error on the last screenshot? Does it stop there and you can't move forward after entering your email and password?

    Regards

  • Hi Dien, you're correct. There is not error on the latest screen. It simply stop there regardless of my numerous attempts to enter correct email and password.

I tried that using Firefox 26 on Ubuntu 13.10

    Regards,

    Denis

  • Hi Denis,

    Please try this work around.

Go to http://my.ti.com and login to see if you can pass this step. If you can login then you can go back to WEBENCH and re-create your design and see if it works for you.

    Regards

    Dien

  • I already tried that before and once again a minute ago but still without any success.

  • Tricky this was for me as well and notice you did not fill in the registration side of the form. This form on the right half of web page must be a mirror site copy of the TI user profile but none the less is required to be filled in as a separate credential for the WEBENCH tool or go to your user profile and fill out the details such as company name etc..

  • Hi Brett, if I understood you correctly you are suggesting that I should fill right side of the form that appears asking me for log in or registration. The fact is that when Webench redirect me there despite the fact that I'm already logged in that I cannot fill anything on the right side (registration).

This morning I had a chance to borrow for a few minutes my colleague's WinXP with same version of Firefox and Webench didn't ask me for log in! That gave me idea that must be something wrong with my Ubuntu, but that is not true. I tried same thing on other WinXP PC and have again the same problem as with Ubuntu/Firefox. I'm running out of idea what to check next.

  • Hi Denis,

Based on the database from WEBENCH, we see that you haven't successfully log in the system and look like you can't log into my.ti.com too.

The reason that your colleagues's WinXP machine works and not asking for a WEBENCH log in since he was already using it. Once you are successfully log into WEBENCH, we will plan a cookie and it will not ask your to re-login for a long time. You still have problem with other XP machine and Ubuntu since your account may have issue with the login then.  I will ask someone from the password team to assist you with the log in process and hopefully, the issue will be resolved.

    Regards

That's strange since it looks yesterday to me that after login I could access pages with my private information/settings.

Hm, that is not a case here. I tested that on two WinXP machines and neither of them never used Webench before.

Ok, I'm looking forward to get further assistance. Many thanks Dien,

  • Hi Denis - Agree with Dien looks like your not logged in. I had same issue as mention WBENCH insists the TI user profile is completely filled out (all fields) or it only grants Guest access. You may have to edit your TI user profile versus trying to enter info in the right side of web page.

Might have forgotten to mention when you are logged into WBENCH, as I recall your email address name is shown in place where in your screen shot above it shows you logged in anonymously given limited Guest access only.

  • I'm giving up to spend any more time trying to enter Webench with Firefox. It simply doesn't work and looking forward that TI Webench team acknowledge soon that they have some major issue with log in when using Firefox. I've switched to MS IE8.0 where everything simply works from first moment and where suggestions about multiple registration, etc. are not required.

  • I have exactly the same problem, and there is no way to make it works... I've tried it aslo with MS IE and is still no way.

Can anybody help me with that logging in issue?

    Thanks in advance
