TINA for Power Electronics

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Dear all,

Does Tina cope well with Power Electronics simulations? Can I add models for parts which are not made by TI?

Is this software free  - do I have complete authorship over the resultys obtained with TINA?

Thank you, in case anybody cares to answer!

Regards!

  • Mircea,

    TINA-TI is a free tool available for download from TI website. You can create your designs and simulate them in TINA-TI and you retain the ownership of your designs.

    Yes, you can simulate power circuits in TINA-TI. There are a number of TI SMPS and LDO models already built into it. You can add your own models by using the New Macro Wizard.

    Tools--->New Macro Wizard

    Enter the name, then click on folder to search for the model file

    Click Next and pick the appropriate symbol and associate the pins properly.

    Place it in the schematic and save it as a .TSM file for future use.

    Regards,

    Lakshmi
