LM22676TJ - 5.0 use

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM22676

I am attempting to use the LM22676TJ-5.0 for an up to 22 volt input, 5.0 volt, 3 amp output. I specifically picked the TJ version to get the TO-263 package. I can't seem to get Web Bench to use the TJ package and I am wondering if there is any good reason NOT to use it?

Web Bench does fine for the SOIC-8 package but, being the conservative guy I am, I'd like the extra margin I think I can get with the TO 263.

     Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks

  • Hi Bob,

Other than layout, you have no reason to worry about package type. Especially in the case of the LM22676, feel free to use webench to correctly determine the passives and design criteria. We ensure that the IC meets the spec regardless of the package.

    Thanks,
