LM5119 Dual Outputs

When I try to design a dual output buck with the LM5119 in WEBENCH, I get the following error message

"Your solution is not yet webench enabled"

When I try to design the outputs separately, WEBENCH designs interleaved solutions, which can't be combined onto the same IC.

Is there a workaround for this issue.

Hi Sean,

Could you tell me your design inputs? It seems to be working for me for a random set of inputs, so I need to try and recreate your problem to find a fix.

Hi Tommy,

Thank you for a prompt reply. My inputs are:

Vin min: 30V

Vin max: 55V

Vout1: 24V Iout1: 5.4A

Vout2: 12V Iout2: 5A

Hi Sean,

How were you inputting your design requirements? For these once you're in WEBENCH hit the NEW button and input you Vinmin,Max Vout1 Iout1 and then your second set into Vout2 and Iout2 this should then show the LM5119 Dual design.

Hi Tommy,

That link worked great. Thanks very much.

I looked into it a bit and it seems that the ambient temperature is what threw my design out. I can input designs and get results, but as soon as a temperature over 50 degrees is entered, the message appears. I'm just going to ignore that and I'll look into the thermal issues when I have a prototype.

Hi Daniel,

When in WEBENCH® Power Designer, click on the "New" Button

In the selection screen you are able to input multiple Vout and Iout.

Hit the "Show Recommended Power Management ICs" Button and that should retrieve Dual or Multi-Channel Regulators.
