USB to GPIO adapter for UCD90160 - Need Win 7 support / drivers

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD90160

Hello Team,

Need help for below:

I am using the “USB Interface Adapter” (2006) box to interface to a UCD90160.  However, my PC is having periodic issues connecting to the device.

Is there a more recent driver that works reliably with Windows 7?

Please advise - thanks.

Sincerely,

Dan

  • Hello Dan,

Are you using the Interface Adapter with a TI-supplied EVM software? If so, tell me where you got the software from, and I will check it out here.

If you are using just the drivers of the Interface Adapter, please be advised that the Interface Adapter is only meant to be used with TI supplied EVM software.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

  • Hi
I'm wondering if there is a solution for this question.

I also need a programmatically access the parameters of UCD90160 . From Texas Instruments I'm using the USB Interface Adapter with a TI-supplied EVM "TI-USB-Adapter-API-2.0.7.exe" (slvc460) Software and also "TI-Fusion-API-3.0.8.exe"  (slvc459f)

    - Rebuilding the .NET sample "TI-USB-Adapter-API-2.0.7" fails, because a DLL is missing

    - Rebuilding the .NET "TI-Fusion-API-3.0.8.exe" "ConsoleSample1.exe" works, but running the built exe program fails. See the message below:

    " Adapter Adapter #1 [ USB-TO-GPIO \\?\hid#vid_0451&pid_5f00#7&d44b402&0&0000#{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030} ] found+
"ConsoleSample1: no devices found on the bus (but adapter OK)"
    "Press return to exit ..."
The debugger shows that the PMBusDevice.Discover() fails with "adapter found but no device"
I think it's the Class: TIDP.PMBus;TIDP.PMBus.dll Version:3.0.8.15687, Is there a better working version of DLL? Or even the source code of the TIDP.PMBus.dll?

By the way the hardware and GUI application  "Texas Instruments Fusion Digital Power Designer" Version 2.0.166, works fine.

    Thanks for any help
