Issue with TINA and OPA847

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA847, TINA-TI, OPA2835, OPA2836

Hello,

I am trying to use the OPA847 in my TINA design. It does seem to be present in the drop-down library, however any time I try to use it it gives me an error as shown below

Recompiling the library doesnt seem to help. I finally need to go to ti.com and download the reference design and copy the model from there to get it to work in my circuit. Can you please look into the cause of the issue.

Thanks,

Samir

  • Samir,

Thank you for te inquiry. We were able to reproduce your observations about the OPA847 in TINA-TI's internal library. We are investigating the root cause of the problem, and will let you know what we find along with any corrective actions.

Until we find a solution, one short-term solution is to copy-and-paste a macro from the downloaded schematic to another TINA schematic.

Another short-term solution is to insert the macro of interest from an external library. The macro files have a .TSM extension and they can be downloaded from the product folder as a zipped file that also contains the macro netlist (.LIB) and an additional .TLD file. The .TSM file is a stand-alone macro; it contains the symbol and electrical information, which allows a TINA user to set up their own external library of .TSM files. They can be inserted into a schematic with the Insert/Macro command. Hopefully this can serve as a short-term work-around until we find a long-term solution.

Just so you know, TINA-TI contains an internal OPA847 test circuit, as well as many others.
It can be found via the TINA-TI path File/Open Examples/TI Test Circuits/OPA847.TSC.

Please let us know if you have any more questions.
Thank you for your interest in TINA-TI.

    Regards,
    John

  • Hello John,
The OPA847 model still doesnt seem to be selectable directly from TINA. In addition the OPA2835 and OPA2836 seem to have the same issue. Could you please look int what is causing these issues.
    Thanks,Samir
