TINA

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

1. Does TIlNA take spice models generated by other companies such as NI, Analog Device, National Semiconductor, Maxim?

2. If we use other company analog components, how can  we find TI's similar parts (compatible)?

3. What's kind type of MCU will include in TINA simulation? What about TI's DSP ?

4. If we use TINA as PCB tool, can TINA include analog, MCU, DSP, FPGA  together and do layout for PCB design?

  • Lee,

TINA-TI, the free version you can download from our website, does not have the ability to import models (other than TI models). It also does not have the PCB capability.

As an analog simulation tool, TINA-TI does not currently have any models or support for simulating processors, so MCUs and DSPs wouldn't be available.

The commercial version of TINA does have the PCB capability, and it should be able to layout whatever type of board you'd like. I'd suggest you get an evaluation copy and see if it will meet your needs.

The commercial version also supports importing of SPICE models from any vendor as long as they're in standard SPICE format. There is also some functionality for mixed-signal type simulation, but as far as I know there are no models for complete processors in TINA.

As far as finding TI components to replace other suppliers' components, you can use our Cross Reference tool on our website, or contact your local TI sales or field applications engineer - we'd be happy to help you fill your board with all TI components!
