TINA seems to always pick the worst possible plot parameters automatically:
It's possible to make the plots look better by manually editing the axes and ticks, but you have to do this EVERY TIME YOU PLOT:
Is there some way to set the plot parameters ahead of time, or set defaults, or keep the latest used axes or something?

The best way to set the TINA-TI plot parameters is to first enable the Remember diagram settings option. This can be found from the Analysis--> Options:
Simply click on the box and your diagram settings will be remembered. You will have to set up your diagram settings after the first run. Once they are set up, they should stay the same until you revise them. Be careful using this option, however, since you may make the diagram window display a range of values that the simulation eventually will not enter which would yield a blank plot.
